Jeder hasst die Nazis, oder? Mindestens bei Indiana Jones sind die immer die Bösen, und da habe ich meine moralische Bildung her. Aber heute sind die Träger des bekannten Schnurrbärtchens überall in der Fugger-Stadt, weil sie mit den Augsburger Politikern zusammen der 25 Februar 1944 Bombennacht gedenken, die “Terror-Nacht” beschrieben in den gleichen Worten auf den Blättern der NPD sowie der SPD. Wenigstens können sie sich auf etwas einigen, links und rechts. Nur schade daß die beiden vergessen haben, daß Kontext sehr wichtig ist bei solchen Sachen:

BBC reports a Thaksin spokesman as saying coup underway and military entering Government House.

The Nation reports:

Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra declared state of emergency in Bangkok and transferred Army Commander in Chief Sondhi Bunyaglarin to PM’s Office.

Speaking from New York in Channel 9, Thaksin ordered Sondhi to report himself with Deputy Prime Minister Pol Gen Chidchai Wannasathit immediately.

Thaksin said he decided to declare the state of emergency because the situations were not stable.

His orders came after reports that Gen Sondhi was trying to stage a coup d’etat.

Tanks and army humvees were seen on Bangkok streets.
Earlier Channel 9 and 5 have been ordered to stand by for special announcement as coup speculation reached the highest pitch.

Coup was widely speculated after many army units were moved out of their barracks on pretext of personnel rotation.

Sources said Channel 5 would broadcast an announcement by the military at 10 pm while Channel 9 may broadcast announcement of caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra from New York.

Channel 5 is playing songs in praising of His Majesty the King in an indication that an announcement may be made soon.
At 10:26 pm, all TV stations are laying march music in praise of His Majesty the King as if the stations are now under control of one group.

Earlier, the day an army source said Army Commander-in-Chief has instructed all army units in Bangkok to standby for an important event.

COMMENT: Now live TV I can find as of yet. All the Thai channels, including The Nation are playing music with pictures of the Royal Family - this usually happens in a coup”

Die Bild kennt die Neueinkäufe der Bayern für die nächsten acht Jahre. Wenn sie könnte würde sie als erstes mit dem Toten sprechen.

Und gleich noch mal Blognews: Letters from Rungholt ist ein Blog, das direkt aus der Krisenregion in Israel berichtet. Unvoreingenommenheit braucht man nicht erwarten, immerhin regnen rings um den Wohnort der Autorin im Moment die Raketen. Aber dafür sind das Informationen aus erster Hand.

Das Hauptquartier der Hisbollah ist getroffen worden - nicht umsonst hat Zahal da gestern Warnungen abgeworfen, daß Zivilisten das Gebiet verlassen sollen. Ehud Yaari meint, alle Libanesen kennen diese Gruppe von Hochhäusern, Symbol der Hisbollah. Es ist gut möglich, daß Nasrallah dort im Bunker ist, aber Nasrallah selbst ist nicht das Ziel, sondern das Hauptquartier.

Die Hisbollah hat schon reagiert und gemeint, dann muß sie eben Haifa beschießen. Nur zu, Jungs. Haifa sitzt im Schutzraum, Bert in Nesher auch, Familie Patish, die deutschen Gäste - an die bitte besonders denken, die haben mit dem Konflitk nun gar nichts zu tun. Aber wohl dem, der Schutzräume hat. Wir haben keine. Ich hoffe, es kommt nicht dazu, aber so wie heute hier die Raketen runtergeregnet sind, im ganzen Norden, darf man nicht darauf hoffen. Und sie zielen nicht schlecht.

Ich verstehe nicht, was das tolle an Podcasten und Videobloggen sein soll. Es macht Sinn aus der Perspektive, dass Menschen ohne Vorbildung und ohne Investitionen die Möglichkeit bekommen, ihr eigenes kleines Medienimperium aufzubauen, komplett mit Print-, Radio- und TV-Sparte. Und es hat, daraus folgend, auch den Vorteil, dass neben die professionellen, umfangreich redigierten und aufbereiteten Medien auch die “kleinen” Medien treten. Die unmittelbaren, unverfälschten, unprofessionellen.

Aber, wenn Angela Merkel einen Videopodcast macht, mit allem, was das Vcasten ausmacht, also verwackelter Kamera, äh-äh-Interviews, schlechten Tonaufnahmen und seltsamen Schnitten, dann verstehe ich das nicht. Angela Merkel hat einen umfangreichen Pressestab, der in der Lage ist, innerhalb weniger Stunden aus dem selben Bildmaterial ein umfangreiches Portrait oder eine Reportage zu stricken. Und das ist nun mal besser.

Trotzdem darf man dieses Ereignis den Sistaweb-Lesern natürlich nicht vorenthalten: Angela Merkels erster echter Videopodcast. Gemeinsam mit Lyssa Borchert, Premiumbloggerin und zukünftiger Chefredakteurin des WAZ-Onlinebereichs.

Für eine einmalige Aktion ist das ziemlich gut geworden, finde ich. Aber auf Dauer würde ich bei den Ansprachen bleiben.

Zum ersten Mal seit mehreren Jahren habe ich heute wieder einen Menschen ironiefrei das Wort “Neger” aussprechen hören. Und dann noch solche Sätze wie “Für die Asylanten müsste man die Zwangsarbeit wieder einführen”, “Die bauen ihre Moschee nur über meine Leiche, da leg ich vorher ne Bombe hin” und “Die muss man alle wieder in den Busch schicken”. Und das an einem Samstagvormittag, bei schönem Wetter, in eigentlich ganz nettem Ambiente.

Mir geht das Thema jetzt schon eine Weile im Kopf herum. Ich verstehe nicht, wie Menschen so verbohrt sein können. So dämlich-klischeehaft-verbohrt-intolerant. Wahrscheinlich werde ich was drüber schreiben demnächst. Über Integration und Nationalgefühl und so. Menschenwürde und so.

Also ehrlich. So was geht gar nicht.

Spiegel Online schreibt in einem Artikel über den neuen “Star” Muhabbet und dessen Vermarktung:

Tatsächlich wagt sich der global operierende Konzern mit Muhabbet in ganz neue Gefilde. Der türkische Ethnomarkt wurde bisher als Zielgruppe vernachlässigt. Viele türkische Jugendliche betreten für Muhabbets Autogrammstunden das erste Mal einen Plattenladen, denn die Stars der türkischen Musikszene gab es bisher in deutschen Geschäften kaum zu kaufen.

Mir passt absolut nicht, was in diesem Artikel steht. Der Verfasser behauptet fortwährend, dass die typischen Käufer der Musik von Muhabbet “noch nie in einem Plattenladen gewesen” wären, und deswegen die Vermarktung der Musik auf große Schwierigkeiten stoßen würde.

Ich komme da absolut nicht klar mit - Muhabbets Musik hat deutsche Texte. Muhabbet ist Deutscher, und der Sound der Musik klingt extrem nach Weichspüler-Pop á la Destinys Child oder Tarkan. Das ist keine weltfremde türkische Folklore, sondern zeitgemäße Popmusik. Wie in Gottes Namen soll man denn da darauf kommen, dass die potentiellen Käufer noch nie in einem Plattenladen gewesen sein sollen?

Ich weiß ja, dass Kulturkonflikte im Moment Quote und Leser bringen. Aber man muss deswegen nicht auch noch die läppischsten Plattenrezensionen auf das Thema umbiegen. Und dabei auch noch so billige Voruteile zu bedienen, das ist, meiner Meinung nach, ganz schlechter Journalismus.

Die RCMP in Kanada, die sogenannten ‘Mounties’, versuchen immer noch eine Verbindung zu finden zwischen den mutmäßlichen Terroristen die am Wochenende in Toronto verhaftet wurden:

Tja, immer noch keine Ahnung was diese Leute verbinden könnte. Kann es sein daß sie alle gewaltätige Videospiele besitzen? Oder Dan Brown Fans waren? Vielleicht waren sie alle rein zufällig am falschen Ort zur falschen Zeit. Das muss es sein. Sonst sehe ich überhaupt keine Verbindung möglich!

Zehntausende marschieren in Iran, trotz gewaltigen Reaktionen der islamistischen Regierung. In Tabriz (mit Video), Sulduz, Miyane, Ardabil, Urmia und Zenjan protestieren unzählige Massen gegen ihrer repressiven Regierung.

Komischerweise, gibt es nichts zu sehen in den deutschen Medien. Spiegel, FAZ, Bild, und Focus? Ãœber Irans WM-Mannschaft gibt es viel zu berichten, aber die Demonstrationen sind anscheinend unwichtig.

Diesmal geht es nicht über ein paar Mohammed-Cartoons; es geht um etwas wichtiges.

Es ist ein verbreiteter Verdacht, daß die amerikanischen Medien der Partei der Republikaner feindlich sind. Mit den größten Medienzentren in Los Angeles und New York ist eine bestimmte Assoziation mit den ‘blauen’ Demokraten zu erwarten.

In diesem Bild sind die roten Flächen die Counties (sowas wie Landkreise hier in Deutschland) die Präsident Bush gewählt haben in 2004. Oben rechts ist New York, unten links Los Angeles.

Die Republikaner haben im Moment eine entscheidende Mehrheit in Washington. Wenn eine Nachricht gut für das Land ist, ist es leider politisch unvorteilhaft für die Demokraten. Zum Glück (zumindest für die Demokraten) können die amerikanischen Medien jede Nachricht zu einer schlechten Nachtricht umwandeln.

Also, wenn die Arbeitslosigkeit auf eine winzige 4,6% fällt, ist das eine gute Nachricht, oder eine schlechte Nachricht? New York-basiernde CBS News, die nummer 3 News-Agentur in den Staaten, muss es wohl so präsentieren:

Man merkt schon vom Anfang an wie es gemacht wird. Ein positiver Satz kann nicht ohne einen negativen Satz geschrieben werden.

Job growth faltered in May, with employers boosting payrolls by just 75,000. Yet the nation’s unemployment rate dipped to 4.6 percent, the lowest since the summer of 2001.

Ein Artikel über eine senkung der Arbeitslosigkeit fängt an mit dem Satz, “Job growth faltered.” WTF? Nächster Satz:

The latest snapshot, released by the Labor Department on Friday, offered a mixed picture of the jobs climate. Wage growth, meanwhile, slowed, a development that should ease concerns about inflation getting out of hand.

Das ist sogar meistens negativ. Man kann es auch anders präsentieren, wenn der den Republikanern freundlich ist.

Es muss wohl ein Pessimismus-Plugin für Microsoft Word geben nur für solche Fälle. Die führen sogar mit dem negativen Satz. Bin ich der einzige der 4,6% Arbeitslosigkeit gut findet?

Wo wird das hinführen? Die iranische Regierung reagiert auf den Meinungsstreit um die Mohammed-Cartoons und lobt in der größten Zeitung des Landes einen Wettbewerb aus. In dem es ebenfalls um Cartoons geht. Um den Cartoon, der am besten den Holocaust verleugnet:

Iran’s biggest-selling newspaper has chosen to tackle the West’s ideals of “freedom of expression� by launching a competition to find the 12 “best� cartoons about the Holocaust, the Associated French Press reported on Monday.

Farid Mortazavi, graphics editor for Tehran’s Hamshahri newspaper, said that the deliberately inflammatory contest would test out how committed Europeans were to the concept freedom of expression.

“The Western papers printed these sacrilegious cartoons on the pretext of freedom of expression, so let’s see if they mean what they say and also print these Holocaust cartoons,� he said.

Iran has withdrawn its ambassador to Denmark and has said it plans to review trade ties with all countries where the cartoons were published.

Außerdem hat ein radikaler Kleriker, Omar Bakri Mohammed, vorgeschlagen, den dänischen Cartoonzeichnern unter islamischem Recht einen fairen Prozeß zu machen und sie schließlich - hinzurichten:

Omar Bakri Mohammed, the radical Muslim cleric, has said the cartoonist behind caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed that have sparked outrage across the Arab world should be tried and executed under Islamic law.

The cleric said the cartoonist had insulted Islam and must pay the price, as three people were killed during protests against the cartoons in Afghanistan.

“The insult has been established now by everybody, Muslim and non-Muslim, and everybody condemns the cartoonist and condemns the cartoon,� he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “However, in Islam, God said, and the messenger Mohammed said, whoever insults a prophet, he must be punished and executed. This man should be put on trial and if it is proven to be executed.�

The cleric said Muslims in Britain were not allowed to kill people who insulted Islam because it was against the law of the country.

“We are not saying ourselves to go there and start to look to him and kill him, we are not talking about that. We are talking about Islamic rules. If anybody insults the prophet, he will have to take a punishment.�

He said if countries refused to put people on trial for insulting Mohammed they must “face the consequences�.
